Drop 'Em: Fights in the Stanley Cup Final

Fighting and enforcers have had their place in the game for as long as the sport of hockey has existed. Love it or hate it, hockey's a physical game, and from time to time, that involves two willing opponents squaring off and dropping the gloves. Fights in regular season games happen for a number of reasons, often a player coming to the aide of a teammate or trying to spark a change in momentum for his team. Springtime in Boston

When the snow starts to melt and temperatures begin to climb again in New England (well, at least a little bit), the swan boats come back to the Commons, the Red Sox return to Fenway Park, and when we're lucky, playoff hockey shows its face at TD Garden.  Boston vs. Ottawa, game 4 at TD Garden Boston is one of only four cities simultaneously hosting both NHL and NBA playoff series this season. Having lived here for almost a decade now, there's nothing that says Springtime in Boston like sitting on a patio with a summer beer in hand while watching the Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins all in one day, but there's something truly special about playoff hockey in this town...

Beards are Back

Hockey is full of funny traditions; handshake lines, not touching the trophy, and growing tremendous beards during the postseason. Widely credited to the 1980 Islanders dynasty for first starting the trend, playoff beards have spread beyond just hockey and into football, baseball, and even college sports. The trimming of the beard is thought to change the team's luck, prompting players to refrain until after elimination or a championship victory. Like most traditions in sports, the playoff beard is beloved for a number of reasons. First, the humor.
